Dublin, Ireland

While I was doing my internship in London, England in 2005, my friends and I had a chance to travel to Dublin.  We chose to go to Dublin after a very bad trip to Paris.  We felt we should wash away that bad memory with a good one.  Ireland  did just that!  Talk about lovely people!  It was pretty blissful.

When we flew in to Dublin, we were supposed to stay at the Temple Bar & Hotel but they had over booked themselves and sent us to a four star hotel instead.  I can't remember what the name of it was anymore but it was beautiful and we were happy.  Our first night in Dublin, we got to the hotel and dropped off our luggage then headed out for a Guinness.  We walked into our first pub and they were playing the song, "I'm afraid of American's" by David Bowie.  It was priceless!

The next day we took a Dublin Bus Tour.  It was really great and I suggest it to anyone visiting.

Here are some of the places we saw.  I'm pretty sure they are not in order any more because I have completely forgotten what we saw in order.

Dr. Steevens' Hospital
Dublin Castle
Dublin Castle
Fusillier's Arch in St. Stephen's Green
Grafton Street
Ha'penny Bridge
National Gallery
O'Connell Street
St. Patrick's Cathedral

Wellington Monument
While the places were amazing, the statues around Dublin are even better.  They take cool to a whole new level.

Also, the very best Guinness I have ever had was in Dublin.  I plan to go back this summer or next!  This time, I will take the rest of the family.
