Wanderlust Abroad

...oh the places we will go!

I didn't know at first that I had a passion for travel.  I had lived in Montana for 21 years with only the occasional visit to Washington State, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, North & South Dakota, and Nebraska.  Most of that travel had been to see various family members when I was younger.  I did go with my husband and his family to Mexico (Puerta Vallarta) for our 10 year anniversary, and then again to Mexico (Playa del Carmen) for my masters graduation with my sister and my husbands family.  Jack was deployed at the time so he sent my sister in his place.  It was amazing and just goes to show what a generous and wonderful man he is! To learn more about Captain Jack and me, check out the Pebble & Penguin Story.

In 2005, I was able to go to the United Kingdom and do a internship with Crabtree & Evelyn in London for six weeks.  This was my first real taste of international travel and once I walked across the Millennial Bridge...it was all over for me.  I don't think I can remember all that I did in that time but I did try to look back and blog about my London Internship.  The girls I met through my University doing internships too (Dani and Scarlett) and I did venture out of the U.K. though.  We took a disastrous trip to France via an amazing ferry ride across the English Channel and saw the white Cliffs of Dover.  We took a fast EuroStar back to London around 24 hours later.  I will still go back to Paris, France and make sure that the love I want to have for it sticks!  :)  The next weekend we went to Ireland to get the ugliness of our failed France trip out of our systems.  It worked!  Dublin, Ireland was amazing.  We were able to do a Fortune Trip to Ireland but did the entire west side instead of Dublin this time.  We will of course do Dublin again but probably not until we go to see the Giants Causeway in Northern Ireland.

In 2006, I had another opportunity to go back to London.  This time it was to actually take summer classes for my Masters.  It was another 6 weeks and this time, my best friend, Dani, got to have her Mom come visit us while we were there.  Ruth was full of energy and had us hopping the whole time.  We did all of the touristy things we hadn't had the energy to do the year before.  That included Hampton Court, the London Eye, a Tour Bus ride, too many museums to count, and about a billion miles of walking through out London.  Dani and I even got to go to Brighton for a day.  Someday I'd like to go and stay the night in that amazing seaside town...London by the Sea...
